How to Stage Your Home: Part Two

The following home-staging tips will help you sell your home fast for top dollar.

In our last post, we discussed the importance of adding curb appeal to your home and putting away any family photos to help potential buyers focus on the home itself – not you. But you should also keep in mind these home-staging tips as well.

Repaint and Re-carpet. Take care of any touch-up work now and you’ll be thanking us after you close. Some buyers struggle to look past a home with torn carpeting or chipped paint and are unable to imagine how the home could appear. Instead, they can only see a home as is. Also, some buyers may take into account the inconvenience of painting or re-carpeting themselves, which may reflect in their bidding price.

De-clutter. You need to maximize your home’s space. Homeowners tend to clump furniture together – but we always suggest two pieces per wall. Arranging your couch and chairs away from the walls and in a conversational setting will also help create extra space. Rent storage space if you need to –our agents offer their clients great discounts on moving companies such as PODS.
